


SWEDISH MASSAGE COURSE
INFORMATION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Swedish Massage Course enables the student to safely and effectively administer therapeutic massage both within the clinical and sporting environment. Practical tools are given to treat these conditions, helping the student to reduce pain, promote healing and restore balance within the musculoskeletal system.
Aim
To provide students with the tools to safely and effectively administer therapeutic massage to treat musculoskeletal conditions in both a clinical and sporting environment.

Method of Study
The course will be run over six months, at a minimum of one 2 hour session every second week, with a total of 14 sessions, or equivalent, within the 6 month period. The sessions will cover both the practical and theoretical elements of the course. This learning will be supplemented by approximately 18 hours of home study between sessions, which will include assignments, practice of techniques and case studies.
Attendance
Students must attend the two weekend sessions at the end of the course. Should a student miss a day or a weekend through illness or other unforeseen circumstance, every effort will be made to help the student catch up on missed work, although an additional £40 per hour of tutor time will be levied for this.

Resits
Students will be allowed to resit any part of the final assessment once only. This will take place between one and two months after the end of the course. A resit fee of £50 will be charged for each element requiring a resit.
Appeals
Any appeals should be made in writing to the Principle within 10 working days of the results being issued.
Qualification
On successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a Diploma in Swedish Massage, which meets the General Council for Massage Therapies (GCMT) Swedish Massage Curriculum.
Accreditation
The course is accredited by the National Association of Massage and Manipulative Therapists.

First Aid Certificate
All students must hold a current first aid certificate on completion of the course.
Insurance
All students must be insured to practice Swedish Massage before commencing the course.
Discontinuation of Training
The Principal of the School reserves the right to discontinue the training of any student who is liable to bring the profession into disrepute.
Complaints
Any complaints should be made in writing to the Principle within 10 working days of the incident.
Course Material
Course material will consist of comprehensive handouts, dynamic spreadsheets and video links. Students will therefore require access to email, the internet and Microsoft Office and have a working knowledge of each.
Equipment
A recommended reading list will be given at the first session.
Special Needs
Every effort will be made to cater for special needs. Please notify us as soon as possible if special requirements will be needed.
Entry Requirements
There is no academic entry requirement, but students must be physically able to perform massage.
Course Duration
The course will run over six months. Total contact hours will be a minimum of 28 hours with approximately 230 hours of home study.
Location
The course will be run in West Linton.

Deposit of £300.00* followed by:
